Where is the Khmer Empire located?The Khmer Empire is located in the Southeast part of Asia which includes Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam. The Empire started off as a Kingdom of Funan and Chenla, then within time it started growing bigger and bigger.
The empire is surrounded by water so you would think that there would be many fisherman and people would use boats to travel from town to town if that wanted to. The Khmer empire was a powerful state in South East Asia, that was formed by people of the same name, lasting from 802 CE to 1431 CE. The empire covered much of what is known today as Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, and southern Vietnam.
By the 7th century CE, Khmer people inhabited territories along the Mekong river (the world’s seventh longest river) from the delta to roughly the modern Cambodia-Laos border The region between that river and the great Tonle Sap lake is to the west and the area going along the Tonle Sap river |

Such as the Angkor Wat. Angkor Wat is a temple located in Siem Reap, Cambodia. The temple is known to be the largest temple that has been created. The Environment
The environment in the Khmer Empire is very green, it is a somewhat healthy environment, although due to many wars and downfalls the environment has been affected and many places in the Khmer Empire don't have the same beauty that was there a while back.
Although there was downfall the scenery and all the land marks have a story behind it, and there are many temples that has withstand the chaos and is now telling tourists the history and the story behind them. |
